"You're not good enough Miller. You're not good enough to be a cheerleader, and you're definitely not good enough for Rick Doyle!"

Book: Surprise Endings by Robin Jones Gunn, Focus On The Family Publishing, 1991
Surprise Endings (The Christy Miller Series #4) Summer Promise/A Whisper and a Wish/Yours Forever/Surprise Endings (The Christy Miller Series 1-4)Surprise Endings/Island Dreamer/A Heart Full of Hope (The Christy Miller Series 4-6) (Christy Miller Collection, Volume 2)
Genre: Realistic Fiction
Target Audience: Girls 13-17
Subjects: Dating relationships, friendships, showing love to others
Summary: Not good enough. Christy doesn't find it all that hard to believe those stinging words, especially when it comes to Todd. Her jealousy over his taking someone else to prom just proves it. And as for Rick, they're just friends... right? Cheerleading however, that she knows she can do if just given a chance. Renee has no intention of giving such a chance though.
Notes: "I'm too jealous". With those simple words that accidentally burst out of her Christy realizes the root of her problem. She learns to turn to God for wisdom to make the right choices. Teen girls can relate to Christy and her struggles throughout the series, but also see a character who learns, sometimes the hard way, what the Biblical perspective should be. This is the 4th book in the Christy Miller series. This series has been republished multiple times and is available in multiple forms.
