Book: Switched! (TJ and the Time Stumblers) by Bill Myers, Tyndale House Publishers, 2012
Genre: Adventure

Target Audience: Girls and Boys 10-14
Subjects: Forgiveness, Friendship, Self-Confidence
Summary: Finally! Tuna and Herby, the time travelers visiting her from the 23rd century, think they have repaired their time travel device so they can go home. TJ is very ready for this! There’s just one more small step left: get a plutonium power pack. Surely it will be no trouble to get it, despite it being in a heavily guarded nuclear submarine, right? How much trouble can it possibly be for two bumbling teenage boys and the “will be great some day in the future” TJ Finkelstein to sneak past highly trained military officials and steal something without getting caught? Oh yeah, and throw a pen that causes people to switch bodies into that mix.
Notes: This is the fifth book in the TJ and the Time Stumblers series about TJ, a new seventh grader in town is being visited by two teenage guys from the 23rd century. They claim she is going to be famous someday and are doing a school report on her. They make many attempts to help TJ with the various adventures in her life. In this book TJ finds out what it means to walk in someone else’s shoes when she switches bodies with her enemy for a day. In the process she learns a lot about forgiveness and gains some confidence and boldness.
This author has done some books with loads of spiritual content, books that really challenge you to grow spiritually. This series does not. It contains little to no spiritual content in the books. This book does teach forgiveness, but not because it’s commanded in Scripture, only because TJ got a taste of how someone else felt, making it easier to sympathize with them.
Spiritual Content Recommendation Scale: 2/5
Reviewer: J:-)mi

Colossians 3:13 – Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
