Panic In The Wild Waters

The phone went dead in Josh’s hands. He stared at it as if willing it to tell what his father had left unsaid. Now really concerned, Josh again dialed Tank’s apartment. Again the phone rang repeatedly, but nobody answered it. Something’s very wrong, he told himself.

Book: Panic In The Wild Waters by Lee Roddy, Focus On The Family Publishing, 1995
Genre: Adventure
Target Audience: Boys 11-15
Subjects: Love for others (including those difficult to love), Friendship, Obedience
Summary: Josh and Tank’s world is about to come to an end. At least as far as they’re concerned it is. Well, if they live that long anyway. Alicia, Josh’s sister’s friend is dragging them into some pretty ridiculous and dangerous situations in her attempt to prove she can do anything she wants. If the boys can survive until she leaves though, Josh and Tank will be separated. Tank’s dad has a job offer in Alaska! The boys are determined to do all they can to stop him from taking it, but they’re just kids. As far as the grown ups are concerned this is a great opportunity. They just don’t seem to understand that they can’t separate the boys without ruining their lives!
Notes: This is the 12th book in the Ladd Family Adventure series. In this book Josh and his friends have to learn to trust their parents and trust God, even in the most difficult of situations. The boys have faced many dangerous adventures, but the threat of separation is by far the worst yet. It is hard for them to trust God with their friendship.

Proverbs 18:24 – A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
