Tell your friends to be ready to fight. Spread the word that the return of the Son is near.

Book: The Author’s Blood by Jerry B. Jenkins and Chris Fabry, Tyndale House Publishers, 2008
The Author's Blood (The Wormling)
Genre: Fantasy/Allegory
Target Audience: Boys 12-18
Subjects: perseverance, trust, faith
Summary: The time has come for the Wormling to reveal his true identity as the King’s Son and to take his rightful place as ruler and marry his bride. There’s just one problem standing in the way: the dragon. He’s still there and has no intention whatsoever of letting the prophecy be fulfilled. In his attempt to stop it, he will destroy as many of the Son’s followers as he can and do his best to destroy the bride of the Son. Owen has come a long ways, but is he truly powerful enough to stand up to the dragon? How much loss will he suffer in this final battle?
Notes: This, the fifth book in the Wormling series, continues the story of Owen Reeder as he reads and tries to understand and apply the words of the Book of the King as he undergoes a search for the one who can save both worlds from the evil dragon determined to rule them. It is an allegory with the King and Book of the King – much of which resembles Scripture. The lessons challenge one to closely examine the heart and stay faithful even in times of despair and hopelessness. This one in particular focuses on the final conflict and on being found faithful when the King returns. There is a scene that shows a clear distinction between those who chose to follow the King and those who hardened their hearts. It’s also contains a message of the love of the Father for His children – whether they feel worthy of it or not.

1 John 4:17-18 – In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment because in this world we are like Him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because He first loved us.
